I’M A Celebrity signed up a big star as a “last minute replacement”, after another contestant dropped out.

The Sun were first to reveal how Jack Osbourne, 40, would be part of this year’s line-up – and now it’s been revealed he agreed to the show at VERY short notice.

In an interview with The Sun, Jack revealed he only found out on November 2 that he would be an I’m A Celebrity campmate.

This gave him just 10 days to prepare for the gruelling jungle, before he hopped on a flight to Australia.

The dad-of-four told us: “I only knew I was coming out here like ten days ago. I think I was a last-ditch effort.

“Clearly, someone backed out and they were like, ‘F***, who do we call?’

“I don’t know when I’m going in the jungle, but it’s in the next few days and I was like, ‘I’m probably just gonna eat as much as I can before going in.

“I stocked up on some chocolate digestives and some Pot Noodles and I’m going to live the high life. It’s a fine cuisine.”

Although it has not been confirmed which star opted out, we reported last weekend that Nick Ferrari had “pulled out of the show at the last minute” after his “radio bosses intervened”.

The Sun also previously revealed how Conor Benn had been in talks to do the show.

FAMILY APPROVAL

Jack shared how he spoke to his mum Sharon about going on I’m A Celebrity.

Revealing what her thoughts on him going into the jungle were, The Osbournes star said: “My family are all very, very supportive of me doing this.”

Speaking about sister Kelly, he added: “She was really supportive and she was like, ‘Go have fun. Yeah, go enjoy yourself.’

“We are in our 40s now, so I like to think that sibling rivalry maybe has tapered off just a bit.”

SAD LOSS

Jack and his family are grieving the loss of their beloved patriarch, Ozzy, who died in July, aged 76.

During our interview he hinted that this could be a topic that is off limits in the I’m A Celebrity camp.

Jack told The Sun: “I think things will naturally come up and I’m not necessarily going to stray away from too many things.

“But, you know, obviously there are certain things I probably won’t discuss on a nationally televised show that’s filmed 24/7.”

Asked if he would take part in any of the emotional conversations which often take place around the campfire, Jack said: “Yeah, I think it’s just a natural part of bonding with people.

“I think this show probably would fall under the ‘trauma bonding’ kind of category.”

Ozzy died of a heart attack following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Speaking before he flew out to Australia, Jack said that it would be difficult to leave his family “in the wake of my dad passing”.
