Workweek Outlook: Milder and quieter this week

Now that calmer weather has settled in, temperatures will gradually climb from the low single digits early in the week to the mid single digits by Wednesday, with largely dry conditions expected through midweek

The lake effect snow that fell over parts of the Sault area comes to an end as high pressure moves in. This marks a welcome change from what has been a remarkably turbulent and cold first half of November. Now that calmer weather has settled in, temperatures will gradually climb from the low single digits early in the week to the mid single digits by Wednesday, with largely dry conditions expected through midweek. The next active weather system won’t arrive until Thursday and Friday, bringing rain chances as the warmer trend continues and winter briefly loosens its grip on the region.

Mostly cloudy on Monday, with temperatures reaching 2°C, as high pressure brings any remaining lake-effect snowfall to an end. We will see sustained northwest winds of 15 to 20 km/h, with gusts of 30 to 35 km/h. Overnight lows fall to near -4°C.

Tuesday will be partly cloudy, with temperatures reaching 2°C again as high pressure continues to build into the region.

Wednesday brings mostly cloudy skies with temperatures reaching 5°C as the warming trend begins.

Thursday and Friday bring a system into the Great Lakes, delivering rain chances to the Sault region, with daytime highs remaining near 5°C.
