The stars of this year’s I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! are now settling into camp after arriving in the jungle later last week.
Among them is the British rapper Aitch (not to be confused with the similarly-named Steps singer), who is already causing a stir among viewers, even if it’s just from people wondering about the meaning behind his stage name.
Well, it turns out it’s actually pretty simple…
What’s the meaning behind Aitch’s name?

Aitch’s legal name is Harrison James Armstrong, with his musical moniker referring to his first initial.
Speaking to Capital Xtra in 2019, the Brit Award winner explained that when he was growing up in Manchester, his friends started referring to him by just ‘H’ for short, which inspired him when he first embarked on his rap career.
“It’s really the letter ‘H’, innit?” he said. “But I didn’t want to be boring and just do that, innit? Obviously, my real name begins with the letter ‘H’, innit? So, I’ve been called ‘H’ from time.
“But because we’re from down there, everyone just says it like ‘Aitch’. So I just spelled it that way.”
What songs does Aitch have that I’d know?
For those who haven’t yet become acquainted with the British star, he’s best known as a rapper who burst onto the music scene in the late 2010s, and has gone on to secure collaborations with big names like Stormzy, Anne-Marie and Ed Sheeran.
His biggest hits are Taste (Make It Shake) and the Ashanti-sampling Baby, both of which peaked at number two in the UK, while his other top 10s include Rain, Buss Down, Psycho and My G.
Aitch’s two studio albums Close To Home and 4 also both reached the top 10 on his home turf, and in 2023, he picked up Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act at the Brit Awards, ahead of Central Cee, Dave, Loyle Carner and Stormzy.

In 2020, he was also nominated in the Best New Artist category but lost out to Lewis Capaldi (his fellow nominees that year were Mabel, Dave and Sam Fender which is a pretty stacked shortlist, we’re sure you’d agree).
Who else is on the I’m A Celebrity line-up for 2025?
Besides Aitch, the full-line-up is as follows:
-
Alex Scott (former Lioness and sports pundit)
-
Jack Osbourne (reality star)
-
Lisa Riley (Emmerdale veteran)
-
Kelly Brook (actor, model and presenter)
-
Martin Kemp (80s musician and actor)
-
Morgan ‘Angry Ginge’ Burtwistle (social media personality)
-
Ruby Wax (comedian and writer)
-
Shona McGarty (soap star)
Tom Read Wilson and Vogue Williams were previously mentioned on a “leaked” cast list, so fans should probably expect them to put in an appearance later in the series.
I’m A Celebrity continues on Tuesday night at 9pm on ITV1.
