Giants’ Cam Skattebo Updates Status of Ankle in Video After Gruesome Injury

New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo showed fans his surgically repaired ankle as he recovers from the dislocation that ended his 2025 NFL season.
Skattebo displayed how he can move his right ankle, which is heavily wrapped, and apply some weight to it.
The rookie ball-carrier was knocked out for the year in New York’s Week 8 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Skattebo not only dislocated his right ankle but also suffered an open tibia fracture and a ruptured deltoid ligament. The hope is that he’ll be back to full health by the time the 2026 season kicks off.
The serious injuries brought an abrupt halt to an encouraging debut campaign from the fourth-round draft pick.
Skattebo’s physical running style made him a cult hero at Arizona State, and he brought that to the NFL. In eight games, he ran for 410 yards and five touchdowns. During the first meeting between New York and Philadelphia, he went for 98 yards and three scores on the ground.
Not even a month removed from the dislocation, Skattebo still has a long recovery ahead. It looks like everything has at least gone to plan so far.
