Line Combinations: Red Wings vs. Kraken

The Detroit Red Wings return home Tuesday to face the red-hot Seattle Kraken, who have gone 6-2-3 with one of the league’s best defensive records over their last 11 games.
Red Wings Aim To Stay Hot As Kraken Bring Stifling Defense To Detroit
Red Wings face a suffocating Kraken defense. Can Detroit’s surging offense, boosted by DeBrincat and new power play looks, break through?
Detroit has won two of its last three and enters the matchup tied 4–4 in the all-time series. Alex DeBrincat leads the Red Wings’ recent offensive push with five goals and an assist in his last three outings, while Seattle’s Jaden Schwartz has rediscovered his scoring touch with four points in his last four.
Detroit is making several lineup adjustments. Rookie Emmitt Finnie moves to the second line after a ten-game scoring drought, while DeBrincat jumps to the top unit alongside Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. Michael Rasmussen shifts to the fourth line despite a two-point night in Anaheim, and Cam Talbot is projected to start in goal. Special-teams changes continue as Nate Danielson centers the second power-play unit, while the top group loads up with Larkin, DeBrincat, and Patrick Kane supported by Raymond and Axel Sandin-Pellikka.
Seattle counters with one of its most balanced forward groups to date, featuring Matty Beniers and Jordan Eberle on the top line and a high-upside third unit built around Shane Wright and Berkly Catton. Their biggest strength remains an elite defensive corps led by Brandon Montour, Vince Dunn, and Ryan Lindgren. The Kraken will get back netminder Joey Daccord back from injury after backup Philipp Grubauer has been carrying a heavy workload in his absence.
This matchup historically produces offense, with all eight previous meetings clearing six goals and most surpassing seven. Larkin has recorded points in all eight games against Seattle, while DeBrincat enters with a five-game point streak versus the Kraken. Detroit also hopes for a breakout from Marco Kasper, who has three points in two career games against Seattle. Puck drop is set for Tuesday night in Detroit.
