Allentown domestic dispute leads to alleged stabbing, felony charges

A 32-year-old Allentown woman is accused of stabbing a man during an altercation at her city home.
Cassarah Brown, 32, of the 300 block of West Linden Street, is charged with felony aggravated assault; misdemeanor simple assault; and summary harassment. She was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge Rashid Santiago, who set bail at 10 percent of $7,500.
In lieu of bail, Brown was taken to the Lehigh County Jail. Court records did not immediately show attorney representation for Brown.
Investigators on Tuesday morning found a man at Brown’s home bleeding from his left hand, city police said.
The victim reported arriving at the home as Brown allegedly was destroying his belongings. The victim does not live with Brown, but was in a romantic relationship with her prior to the altercation, court records state.
The victim was stabbed with a pocket knife when he went to kiss Brown, city police said.
Investigators seized the alleged weapon used in the stabbing. Brown was arrested at her home. The victim’s injuries are being described as minor by police.
She is due back in court for a preliminary hearing tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. Nov. 24 before Santiago. A judge will then determine if there’s sufficient evidence to send the case toward trial at the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas.
