Aer Lingus owner poised to enter race to buy Portugal’s TAP airline

Deutsche Lufthansa and IAG plan to submit expressions of interest in Portugal’s TAP in the coming days, according to people familiar with the matter, joining Air France-KLM in the bidding process for part of the state-owned carrier.

Lufthansa and IAG, which owns Aer Lingus and British Airways, will submit their official expressions of interest to the Portuguese government by the November 22 deadline, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the matter isn’t public. They didn’t provide details about the contents of the letters.
