Early voting began Oct. 7, the day after the voter registration deadline. As of Oct. 23, nearly 50,000 people have voted early in person, while 19,000 have mailed in an absentee ballot for the November 2025 election, per the Ohio Secretary of State’s Absentee and Early Voting Data Dashboard. Early voting can offer more convenience and flexibility, and voters may experience shorter wait times at the polls.
Early voting is currently underway — but not for long. Here’s how long voters have left to cast an early ballot for the general election.

Ohio’s general election is Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. that day.

Ohio early in-person voting hours
Extended in-person and weekend early-voting hours will be available starting the week of Oct. 27, the Columbus Dispatch reports:
- Oct. 27, 29, 30 and 31: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Nov. 1: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Nov. 2: 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Ohio absentee ballots being mailed in must be postmarked by Nov. 3, 2025.
The last day for absentee voting is Nov. 4, 2025, and ballots must be returned by mail or delivered to local boards of elections by this date.
Where can I vote? Early in-person voting locations by county
Registered voters may cast an early in-person ballot at their county board of elections. The Secretary of State’s website provides a map and list of locations based on your county. Here are the board of elections locations for Ohio’s largest counties:

What should I bring to the polls when voting early?
