Oakdale nurse practitioner accused of Medicare fraud, identity theft, unlawfully retrieving medication

OAKDALE, La. (KPLC) – A licensed nurse practitioner is facing several charges, including Medicare fraud, in Allen Parish.

Allison Jill Miller, 36, of Oakdale, faces the following charges:

  • Medicaid fraud (4 counts)
  • Identity theft (4 counts)
  • Unlawfully prescribing, distributing, dispensing, or assisting in illegally obtaining drugs (4 counts)

In October, the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating allegations of Medicare fraud and the unlawful distribution of drugs, APSO said.

Investigators learned Miller, a licensed nurse practitioner, was prescribing medication to patients and later retrieving it from the pharmacy herself, APSO said.

Today, Miller was arrested and booked into the Allen Parish Jail. Her bond has not yet been set.
