Andrews tips Igor Thiago for Ancelotti call-up: He would love to don the Brazil jersey!

Brentford manager Keith Andrews has spoken to the press as he prepares to take on Brighton.
Brentford currently sit 12th in the Premier League table after winning five, drawing one and losing five of their 11 matches in what has been a tricky start for Andrews after taking over from former manager Thomas Frank.

Carvalho’s ACL injury is devastating
Andrews was first asked on Fabio Carvalho, who picked up a devastating ACL injury this week.
“It’s been a tough week for obvious reasons – it’s devastating for him. He did it around a week ago in training, unfortunately.
“Devastating news for him. I feel for him. He’s someone who I have a lot of respect for as a man. This season he’s not been given as much of an opportunity as I ideally would’ve liked. He knows that.
“We were in constant communication before the injury about his development as a player and ambitions. Unfortunately, that’s been taken away from him for a period.
“We’ll support him really well as we always do. Fabio knows he’ll get support from everybody at the football club during this difficult period.”

Despite the crushing blow to Carvalho, Andrews next confirmed that there are no other injury updates after what was a busy international break.
“The boys trained yesterday after their exploits. They’re coming from different time zones and emotions of the nature of the varying results they’ve had.
“But it was nice to have them back together, and everyone seems in a good place.”
“I can only speak about Thiago and how good he’s been. He’s so important for us and the way we play. He’s constantly developing and he’s clearly very ambitious and very patriotic.
“He would love to don the Brazil jersey – it’s a huge ambition of his. We will help him as much as we can to hopefully achieve that.”
Thiago to be called up for Brazil?
One of the stories of the season is Brentford forward Igor Thiago who is not only Brentford’s top scorer but also the Premier League second highest scorer with 8 goals so far. Andrews has backed the 24-year-old to receive a Brazil call up under manager Carlo Ancelotti.
