Charlotte Hornets center Ryan Kalkbrenner suffered an ankle injury during Saturday’s game vs. the Los Angeles Clippers and will not return.
During the first half, Kalkbrenner appeared to twist his ankle while fighting for a rebound under the basket. He grabbed at the injury before heading to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the contest shortly after. Per the team, it’s left ankle soreness for the rookie.

Kalkbrenner played 11 minutes on Saturday and recorded two points, one assist, and two rebounds.
Moussa Diabate and Mason Plumlee are likely to see additional minutes at the five today. That trend could continue if Kalkbrenner misses extended time.
The rookie is in the midst of a solid rookie campaign in Charlotte. The 7-foot-1 big man averages 9.9 PPG with 7.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per night as the Hornets’ starting center.
