This is the live blog for Belal Muhammad vs. Ian Machado Garry, the pivotal welterweight co-main event of Saturday’s UFC Qatar event at Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena in Doha.
Muhammad competes for the first time since losing the UFC welterweight title. “Remember the Name” was defeated by Jack Della Maddalena via unanimous decision in their championship main event bout at UFC 315 in May. The loss snapped an impressive 11-fight unbeaten streak, which included his title win over Leon Edwards at UFC 304 in July 2024.
Garry enters the bout winning nine of his 10 UFC bouts. In his most recent bout, “The Future” defeated Carlos Prates in the main event of UFC Kansas City in April via unanimous decision — which was a great bounce back win from a five-round decision loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov this past December at UFC 310. Garry also holds octagon victories over Michael Page, Geoff Neal, Neil Magny, and Daniel Rodriguez.
