A gift from King Charles? Queen Camilla showcases romantic heart necklace for literary engagement

‘As our Commonwealth continues on its remarkable journey, I am certain that each one of our brilliant finalists has an exciting future ahead of you, using your literary skills to express your concerns and ambitions, to make the unknown accessible and to fill us with hope for the days to come.’
It has been a busy week of engagements for Queen Camilla. On Tuesday night she joined King Charles III and Prince William in hosting the annual Diplomatic Corps reception at Windsor Castle. For the white tie engagement, Queen Camilla sparkled in a diamond and emerald tiara most famous for being worn by Princess Eugenie on her wedding day.

For the literary engagement on Thursday, navy was the name of the game for Queen Camilla, who wore what is fast becoming one of her favourite ensembles: A smart blue midi dress with long, flared sleeves and scallop patterning down the middle, with a pair of jewels that many believe to have been gifts from King Charles.
Item one: the Faberge sapphire earrings that the Queen debuted right around Valentine’s Day this year. With a central sapphire stone surrounded by curlicues of white diamonds, each earring features a cascading tassel of sapphire beads, all set in 18k gold. If the jewels were a romantic gift from the King, they certainly were fit for a Queen. Camilla went on to wear the earrings at a host of receptions, including the time she hosted the stars of the National Theatre later that month.
The Queen often pairs the sapphire earrings with her blue enamel brooch, which is adorned with two overlapping love hearts. It appears to be a new addition to the royal jewellery box, and royal watchers surmised that this could be another 19th-century antique piece, which was first spotted as a part of the Queen’s ensemble during the royal Christmas get-together at Sandringham in 2022.
