The resurgent Joao Felix opened the scoring for Al-Nassr after 39 minutes following an earlier disallowed goal, taking his league tally to 11 goals. The Portugal international turned provider three minutes later as he set up Brazilian youngster Wesley, who curled an effort into the top corner from distance.
Al-Khaleej pulled one back in the 47th minute through Murad Al-Hawsawi before Sadio Mane added his name to the scoresheet, restoring Al-Nassr’s two-goal advantage. The visitors were dealt a further blow as midfielder Dimitrios Kourbelis was shown a straight red card in the first minute of stoppage time following a foul on Ali Al-Hassan.
