Over the next five seasons, Nimmo is owed $102.5 million, and Semien is due $72 million over the next three.
Semien, 35, has spent the last four seasons with the Rangers after landing in Texas on a seven-year, $175-million free-agent contract before the 2022 campaign.
With Texas, Semien made two all-star teams, won a Silver Slugger and Gold Glove and was a key member of the Rangers’ 2023 World Series-winning squad. During his tenure in the Lone Star State, the 13-year MLB veteran played in 609 games, slashed .249/.317/.420 while hitting 93 home runs, stealing 58 bases and collecting 319 RBIs.
Semien took a step back offensively in 2025, posting a .669 OPS with just 15 homers in 127 games. He remained one of the top defensive second basemen in baseball, though, and took home the American League Gold Glove at the position.
Before cashing in with the Rangers, Semien spent the 2021 season with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he set the single-season, second-base, home-run record with 45 and finished third in AL MVP voting.
Like Semien, Nimmo recently signed a mega-deal. The 32-year-old returned to the Mets on an eight-year, $162-million contract before the 2023 season.
Nimmo has spent his entire career in Queens, having appeared in 1,066 career games with the organization.
While he has never made an all-star team, Nimmo has been a steady presence in the Mets lineup. He owns a career .802 OPS and has spent time in all three outfield spots over the course of his 10-year career, but has been New York’s primary left-fielder over the last two seasons.
In 2025, the left-handed batter slashed .262/.324/.436 with a career-high 25 homers and 92 RBIs.
