LOOK: Former Saints Drew Brees, Jimmy Graham Seen at Saints Game on Sunday

The New Orleans Saints were once the textbook definition of dynamic offensive in the NFL. Two of their former stars were on hand for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.

Former Saints quarterback Drew Brees and tight end Jimmy Graham were seen at the game in pregame festivities which certainly could have had many reliving what was a Golden Era of Saints football.

Brees, of course, was in attendance to call Sunday’s game as he continues to grow into his role as an analyst in the broadcast booth. The former star quarterback cut his teeth in broadcasting at NBC covering games for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Now Brees represents a new network with the NFL on Fox.

Several social media posts poured in reliving the great moments Brees and Graham had in Saints uniforms. One account posted of Graham’s recollection of playing alongside Brady in New Orleans.

“Drew’s like a brother to me,” Graham shared. “And, you know, I always wish I had more time with him because of what could have happened. And so, you know you live through some of that sometimes, because you know you’re on pace, five years, 52 touchdowns, that’s a lot. And so, you know, that’s where him being here for me today, me being here for him last year, this will go until I’m in the grave. So, you know, it’s a brotherhood and it’s a relationship that I’m truly blessed to have, and has brightened my life, not only through him but through his family and his kids. And watching them grow up, so you know it’s always special… to be able to share and laugh and talk about the young me.”

Graham and Brees certainly had one of the more dominant runs in New Orleans. Twice Graham went for over 1,200 receiving yards. Three times, Graham caught double digit touchdown passes with 16 touchdown receptions in the 2013 season.

It’s fitting Brees is in the building for a game between the Saints and the hated rival Atlanta Falcons. Some of Brees’ biggest moments came against the team. On almost the exact same date in 2018, Brees posted a memorable thanksgiving performance in a 31-17 win over the Falcons, throwing for four touchdowns to four different receivers.

Brees and Graham go down as the best quarterback-tight end duo in Saints history, and one that rivaled that of New England’s Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski and current Kansas City stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
