Guy Fieri visited a popular Filipino chicken restaurant in Calgary

The Mayor of Flavortown is back at it. Earlier this year, the legendary TV host revealed that he had recently shot a bunch of new episodes of his hit series Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in Calgary, and now they’re finally starting to appear on screen.

While several spots have been featured on screen as part of the series over the years, Darwin’s Charcoal BBQ Chicken shared that it is set to make an appearance tonight.

In an Instagram post, the restaurant revealed the exciting news that it would be featured in a new episode of the hit show, airing on the Food Network on Nov. 21.

The chef-driven restaurant highlights cuisine from the Philippines, particularly island-style charcoal BBQ chicken. The chicken is marinated for 48 hours in a secret blend of spices before being grilled to perfection over hardwood charcoal.

“It’s an incredible honour to showcase our Philippine island flavours from right here in Calgary,” the restaurant said.

Fieri has not been shy about his love of Calgary’s dining scene. Speaking to Dished earlier this year, Fieri revealed that we’re about to see a whole lot more of the city on screen in the near future on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.

“We just shot six triple D’s here […] This is a food Mecca,” he said.

“You’ve got to come to Calgary for the Stampede, but you’ve got to check out the food scene.”

This is an incredibly exciting day for Calgary foodies, and we can’t wait to see where it is featured next.
