Is Tetairoa McMillan Injured? A Look at Whether the Panthers WR Is Hurt Amid Slow Start on MNF vs. 49ers

The Carolina Panthers, despite very few expectations from them, have remained in the thick of the playoff race in the NFC. Some of it might be attributed to an underwhelming division, but the franchise has consistently managed to put wins on the board, boasting a 6-5 record heading into Week 12.
However, facing the San Francisco 49ers in a Monday Night Football clash, the numbers have been difficult for the team to fathom as a whole. The defense has been nothing short of spectacular, but the offense has given them virtually no production. That has reflected poorly on the roster, including superstar rookie Tetairoa McMillan.
What Happened to Tetairoa McMillan?
Despite the numerous problems Carolina faced throughout the season, one bright spot for them has been the play of their first-round pick in 2025. Ranked 24th on PFSN’s WR Impact, he has been wildly efficient on an offense that has been outright dysmal for large stretches of the season.
Tallying 748 receiving yards and four touchdowns coming into the game, he has been the lone shining light on a unit that ranks in the bottom-10 of the league on PFSN’s Offense Impact.
That reflected in an ugly first half against San Francisco, when they managed less than 100 yards of total offense, with Bryce Young throwing for a total of just 28 yards. McMillan, too, was unable to make an impact.
Targeted twice on the night, he caught one pass for six yards, while also dropping an easy catch that ended the drive immediately. In the second half, too, things seemed to be following a similar script, with the 49ers extending the lead to 17-3.
However, near the end of the third quarter, Young threw a perfectly placed ball for his rookie wide receiver, who was able to make the 29-yard touchdown catch to get the Panthers right back into the game.
