In a game that featured five turnovers, the 49ers found a way to secure a critical home win over the Panthers.
Purdy threw three interceptions in the first half but took care of the ball down the stretch, finishing the night 23-of-32 with a touchdown and three interceptions. Christian McCaffrey was the catalyst for San Francisco, totaling 142 scrimmage yards with a rushing score, while George Kittle tacked on six catches for 78 yards.
Carolina’s offense never got going, totaling just 230 yards from scrimmage. Bryce Young was a bit erratic, completing 18-of-29 passes for 169 yards with a touchdown and two costly interceptions. His lone touchdown was thrown to rookie Tetairoa McMillan, who caught two passes for 35 yards with a 29-yard score.
San Francisco improves to 8-4 while Carolina drops to 6-6.
