This is a match-up that conjures evocative memories of dramatic past meetings between Chelsea and Barcelona.

From Andres Iniesta’s thunderbolt to send Barca into the 2009 final to Fernando Torres’s dramatic stoppage-time semi-final winner at the Camp Nou three years later.

Rivalries will be renewed when the pair clash at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday with Chelsea looking to continue their impressive recent form.

The Blues are unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions and moved up to second place in the Premier League with a convincing 2-0 victory at Burnley on Saturday.

The Londoners have also made a decent start to their Champions League campaign with defeat at Bayern Munich their only loss in four matches from which, like Barca, they have taken seven points.

Enzo Maresca can also point to a record of one defeat in the Blues’ last nine meetings against the mighty Barca as reason to be optimistic, although six of those games have ended in stalemate.

The visitors are also enjoying a decent run of results and are just a point behind La Liga leaders Real Madrid after going four games without defeat.

They have happy memories of their last trip to England when they beat Newcastle on Matchday One, but that is the sole success for a Spanish side against an English opponent in the last ten attempts.

I can see plenty of goals to keep a sell-out Stamford Bridge crowd entertained.

No Chelsea player has more goal involvements in 2025 than Enzo Fernandez, who is revelling in being asked to play a more advanced role, so the Argentine is worth chancing at 17/2 with starsports.bet to open the scoring.

🇫🇷 MARSEILLE v NEWCASTLE UNITED 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Newcastle have the opportunity to win four successive Champions League matches for the first time ever as they travel to the south of France to take on Roberto De Zerbi’s Marseille.

After falling to defeat at home to Barcelona in their opening game, Eddie Howe’s men have taken maximum points from clashes with Union SG, Benfica and Athletic Bilbao to put themselves in a strong position to achieve automatic qualification for the last 16.

They also got back to winning ways in the Premier League with an impressive 2-1 triumph at home to Manchester City on Saturday, the perfect preparation for a trip across the Channel.

While their away form has been the Magpies’ Achilles heel domestically, they have lost only two of their last 13 Champions League group-phase matches outside of St James’ Park.

While Marseille have scored eight goals in their last two league matches, they find themselves languishing in the lower reaches of the Champions League table, having already suffered defeat at the hands of Atalanta, Sporting Lisbon and Real Madrid.

They are also on a run of 12 games without a victory against Premier League opposition, but may feel this is a good time to change that against a Newcastle side who expended plenty of energy in the win over City.

Former Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood is now the leading scorer in Ligue 1 and can have a big say here. My build-a-bet is Marseille to win, both teams to score, Joelinton to be shown a card and Greenwood to net at any time which returns a tasty 21/1 with starsports.bet.

The Emirates Stadium will play host to one of the most eagerly awaited games in this season’s Champions League on Wednesday when the English league leaders go toe-to-toe with the German champions.

The Gunners’ only defeat in 18 matches in all competitions was a slightly unlucky 1-0 reverse at Liverpool and they strengthened their grip at the top of the Premier League with a comprehensive 4-1 demolition of bitter rivals Tottenham in Sunday’s North London Derby.

Like the hosts, Bayern are unbeaten this season and warmed up for their trip to the English capital with a 6-2 thrashing of Freiburg at the weekend.

They are also a team Arsenal have regularly come unstuck against in the past, and Bayern have won four of their last five meetings with the Gunners, inflicting some infamously heavy defeats along the way.

With Harry Kane in scintillating form, Vincent Kompany’s men have also scored in every game they have played this season.

While Arsenal did not miss their main defensive kingpin Gabriel against a toothless Spurs side, this will be much more of a test of how they cope without the Brazilian.

A point would probably suit both sides, and after keeping eight clean sheets in a row Arsenal have now conceded in their last two, so I like the look of the draw and both teams to score at 10/3 with starsports.bet.

🇫🇷 PARIS ST-GERMAIN v TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank was left feeling the heat from Spurs fans after Sunday’s North London Derby horror show.

Frank will be hoping his side can bounce back from an awful afternoon at the Emirates as they travel to Paris for a repeat of this season’s Super Cup.

In that game Spurs led 2-0 with five minutes to play before ultimately losing on penalties, but it is tough to make a strong case for anything other than a relatively routine home victory here.

European champions PSG have lost only one of their last ten matches, and that was against in-form Bayern Munich.

Luis Enrique’s men have already picked up impressive results against the likes of Atalanta and Barcelona and have been their usual free-scoring selves, banging in six goals in their last two matches.

Spurs’ away form in Europe has been patchy, to say the least, after being held to draws at Bodo/Glimt and Monaco, when they were lucky to escape with a 0-0 stalemate.

It is now just two wins in eight games for Frank’s side and if they play as passively as they did against Arsenal, this could get messy pretty quickly.

I strongly fancy PSG to get all three points and to boost the odds, I’ll add in Bradley Barcola, who has five goals in eight league starts this season, to score at any time. That returns 1.59/1 as a build-a-bet with starsports.bet.
