The Hobart Hurricanes return to WBBL action tomorrow night at CitiPower Centre against the Melbourne Stars, as they look to get back on the winner’s list after their first loss of the WBBL|11 campaign.
Playing at home at Blundstone Arena in the ‘Fill the Hill’ game against the Sydney Sixers, the Hurricanes bowled first and were once again led by Heather Graham.
Graham took 4-29 from her four overs, as they managed to restrict the Sixers to 6-147 from their 20 overs.
The Hurricanes’ batting, which has been impressive so far this season, faltered slightly in their chase of the Sixers’ target.
Lizelle Lee (28 off 11 balls) continued her good starts with the bat, and skipper Elyse Villani (42* off 31) entered the innings earlier than in previous games, but was unable to help guide the Hurricanes home in their first loss of the WBBL|11 season.
The squad remains unchanged from the Renegades match, with the same 13 players included.
Amy Smith is unavailable for selection following a hamstring injury sustained during the WNCL season, and they will re-evaluate her fitness later in WBBL|11.
Tomorrow’s match begins at 10:00 am AEDT at CitiPower Centre, Melbourne.
