Why Fortnite isn’t working or loading on Epic Games with login, server issues

It’s a busy time for Fortnite.

The popular video game is in the middle of its Simpson special promotion, and with it being a holiday week, there are plenty of people looking to sit down and game.

On Wednesday, though, that became hard to do.

Fortnite, and the Epic Games servers, appeared to encounter issues.

Why isn’t Fortnite working?

Fortnite appears not to be working or loading on Wednesday because the Epic Games servers appear to be down.

The Down Detector website had a spike in people checking in on Fortnite being down. The spike began about 12:45 p.m. ET.

On X, Fortnite Status posted at 12:51 p.m. ET:

“We’re aware of players being unable to login to Fortnite. Our team is investigating the issue and we’ll follow up once the issue has been resolved.”

When will Fortnite be back online?

It’s not clear when Fortnite’s servers will be totally fixed.

As of 2 p.m. ET, that Fortnite Status account had not yet posted a new update after its initial acknowledgement of issues.

Assuming the servers come back soon, there will still be time to play the Simpsons promotion. It runs through Saturday, Nov. 29.
