Shona McGarty walks away from conversation and opens up about breaking off her engagement

Discussions in the camp turned to proposals and engagements, which proved quite the trigger for the EastEnders star
Shona recently called off her engagement with her fiancé David Bracken
This year’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here cast have delved in to many emotional topics, opening up about things that have affected them in the lead-up to their time in the jungle. One celebrity who became rather emotional in Thursday’s episode was EastEnders star Shona McGarty.
Discussions in the camp turned to proposals and engagements, which proved quite the trigger for the star who walked away from the conversation. Before entering the jungle it was revealed that the actress and her fiance David Bracken had gone their separate ways after a year-long engagement.
A source told The Sun: “They are on amicable terms but have ended their romantic relationship.
“There are no hard feelings – they realised they wanted different things and are better off as friends. Shona is now focusing on her music and career.” For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
Over in their new camp. Doomsville rapper Aitch revealed: “I’ve been proposed to off a fan at a meet and greet. She got on one knee and I said: ‘Go on then’, put the ring on, gave her a hug, and all that it was cute but unfortunately I never saw her again.”
When quizzed by Kelly Brook Aitch said he’d “100%” like to get married.”
Kelly said: “I’ve been engaged about five times before I met my husband”.
She added that her husband Jeremey “never really proposed”.
The model continued: “I think he was petrified in the past that because of all the engagements I’d had that it was the beginning of the end”.
She told her fellow campmates that she was the one to suggest marriage in the end with Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp revealing his wife Shirlie did the same thing with him.
He said: “I never proposed to her in a way – I was kind of putting it off and putting it off.”
Martin then told a story of how he was in Dublin and there was an old jewellery store. His wife grabbed his collar and dragged him in and said: “I’ve had my eye on that one.”
As Shona and Tom Read Wilson went to do the washing up the actress confided in him that she struggled to be part of the conversation as she’d just gone through a break-up with her fiancé before coming into the jungle.
Sharing that she walked away from the conversation because she wouldn’t have known what to say Tom said: “I think you’ve done a really sensible thing.”
The TV personality then gave her a pep talk that the right thing would come along at the right time.
