Theoretically, running is an inexpensive activity. All you need is a pair of shoes and you’re on your way. But these days, a good pair of running shoes often costs at least $150. And while you can wear any old pair of shorts and shirt, it’s nice to have the good stuff — the shorts that don’t make you chafe, the shirt that doesn’t get sopped with sweat. And no, you don’t need a watch, but if you’re training for any sort of goal, being able to track your progress is incredibly helpful.
Add that all up and you can easily be wearing $500 worth of gear when you head out for a jog. Which is why Black Friday is prime time for runners. If you’re in need of a restock (or, let’s be honest, even if you’re not — I know runners!), now’s the time to buy.
