Does lululemon take part in Black Friday?

That’s a resounding yes. In previous years, lululemon has been a big fan of Black Friday, and extended the deals over the weekend to Cyber Monday. Thank you, lulu, for giving us gym-loving gals even more opportunities to shop discounted activewear.

When is the lululemon Black Friday sale?

This year, Black Friday falls on 28 November, with Cyber Monday following on 1 December. However, lululemon’s Black Friday sale dropped on Tuesday 25 November.

While there’s no official word yet on when lululemon’s sale will end, in previous years the brand has kept the deals going until Cyber Monday. But be warned; popular styles, sizes and colours are likely to sell out early.

What should I buy in lululemon’s Black Friday sale?

It’s wise to use this time to stock up on essentials. And what does that constitute, exactly? Leggings, leggings and more leggings. If you can’t usually afford lululemon’s spenny (but excellent) yoga or gym leggings, this is your big moment (trust us, once lulu, you won’t go back).

Next up on your list should definitely be a lululemon yoga mat because, again, the quality is impeccable (hella non-slippy, people). Then, basic gym wear essentials — tank tops, tees and sports bras — as well as some trusty outerwear for bracing the colder months’ runs.

Also, we needn’t remind you that loungewear is still very much an essential now we all WFH a few days per week. So make room for lululemon’s comfy joggers/hoodies/sweatshirts on your wishlist.

Perhaps you’re not in need of activewear right now but always begin your post-Christmas health kick with a sportswear haul, why not push your shopping spree forward to Black Friday and save the extra cash for presents — seems like a no-brainer, right?

Why we love lululemon at Women’s Health

lululemon ticks every activewear box we have: excellent quality, inclusive sizing, flattering cuts, technical fabrics, wide colour range and delivering when it comes to performance. We’ve yet to try a dud from the brand; its running kit is as brilliant as its yoga essentials, with clothing and accessories all kept to the same consistently high standards.

The brand’s Align leggings have held the top spot in our ‘best yoga leggings’ list for years (and we re-test frequently), while the Wunder Train pair takes the crown for gym sessions. So, what exactly is Black Friday?

Originating in America, Black Friday refers to the annual post-Thanksgiving sales — which are chaotic, to say the least. The event was thought to be kick-started by department store Macy’s in the ’30s, but the term ‘Black Friday’ wasn’t officially coined until years later.

Fast forward to the upwardly mobile times of the ’80s (cast your mind back to Wall Street bankers and the 1988 film Working Girl, and you’ll get the vibe) and the manic shopping period we know and — kind of — love today began to truly take shape.

Amazon was the first to give Black Friday a whirl in the UK, offering customers online discounts and deals on the same day as the sales in the US. Asda came next in 2013 with its in-store event, which included huge discounts on TVs and tech (there were physical fights, FYI).

Now, Black Friday has overtaken Boxing Day as the biggest shopping event of the year, with most high street retailers taking part in some way. And thankfully, a lot of it plays out online, so no need for mid-aisle bust-ups.

How much is lululemon shipping on Black Friday?

Sooo, shopping this time of year can be pretty hectic so we’re all for filling a virtual basket. However, this does mean most of us have to pay extra fees for shipping our items.

Luckily, lululemon takes one for the team: standard delivery is always on them. Unfortunately the brand is not offering any kind of express delivery at the moment, so you’ll have to sit tight and wait patiently for your goodies.

Orders are only shipped out on business days and take and 2-5 working days to ship, so you could be looking at a wait time of up to a week. However, that time may be slightly longer during peak periods (4-6 business days).
