At 3:20 a.m. this morning, officers confirmed the closure was still in place.

Traffic callers to the 570 NewsRadio newsroom said there was also a crash just east of Oxford Road 29 that involved an 18-wheeler and several other vehicles on the eastbound side of the highway.

Just before 6 a.m. The Ministry of Transportation said the crash was cleared but the eastbound lanes were still closed.

Those traffic callers also note, traffic is not moving at all through that stretch.

Westbound lanes are open, but still moving very slowly.

An orange snow squall alert is in effect for the area warming of extremely hazardous travel conditions.
