Some fans are confused as there was a different character with the same name in an earlier season.
Fans are being reunited with favourite characters and a few new faces as new episodes of Stranger Things are finally streaming.
The first part of the final season, consisting of four episodes are finally available from today (November 27) on Netflix. Many from the show’s original cast are returning to reprise their roles including Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Jim Hopper and Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven.
There are some new faces though including iconic Terminator star Linda Hamilton. However, Stranger Things is a series famed for having crucial minor characters who can play just a big a part as its leading stars. Season five is already proving to be no different.
One new face in particular that is drawing some interest, as well as a little confusion is Tina. But who is Tina? Have we seen her before? Who plays the character? Here’s all you need to know.

Who is Tina in Stranger Things season 5?
Tina Turnbow is the eldest daughter of the Turnbow family and sister of Derek Turnbow. According to Steve Harrington, their father runs a real estate business. Derek finds himself as the next target of Vecna after the disappearance of Holly Wheeler.
As a character, Tina has been referred to be before we actually meet her. She is previously mentioned as a friend of Erica Sinclair, Lucas’ sister. In an earlier season, she even claims she is helping the group at the expense of missing a sleepover at Tina Turnbow’s.
In season 5, the pair have seemingly ended their friendship after a falling out. Erica hit Tina’s crush, Josh, during dodgeball and gave him a black eye, which Tina believes was a move to prevent them from dating. In an attempt to save Derek and his family from a Demogorgon attack, Erica is enlisted in reuniting with Tina, offering a drugged pie as a peace offering.
Who plays Tina in Stranger Things season 5?
She is played by Caroline Elle Abrams. While she has been performing since the age of 5, she is still very early in her screen career. Previous credits include family movie R.A.D.A.R. The Bionic Dog and the Apple TV series Me.

Why are fans confused about Tina?
Some fans are confused about Tina simply because there has been another minor character with the same name who appeared in a previous season. Specifically, in the season 2 opener called MADMAX as well as the following instalment called Trick Or Treat, Freak.
However, that Tina was an older student at Hawkins High School who hosted a Halloween Bash party at her house. She is seen as noticing and being one of several girls immediately interested in Billy Hargrove as soon as he makes his appearance.
She is in the same school year as Nancy, Steve and Jonathan who also attend the party. Tina is seen welcoming her guests dressed up as Madonna from her Like A Virgin video.
We don’t know previous Tina’s surname but she was played by Outer Banks and Glass Onion star Madelyn Cline. Cline also went on to appear in romance movie The Map That Leads To You.
