Costa and Emirates Leisure Retail extend longstanding partnership

Costa Coffee has signed a new agreement with Emirates Leisure Retail which extends their partnership for another 15 years as both partners look to grow their footprint in the region.
The partnership between Costa Coffee – the UK’s biggest high street coffee chain – and ELR dates back to 1999 when Costa’s first store outside the UK opened in Dubai. There are now 160 stores in the UAE.
Emirates Leisure Retail was named International Franchise Partner of the Year at Costa Coffee’s International Partner Forum in September in recognition of their “outstanding performance, collaboration, and dedication”.
Costa Coffee CEO Philippe Schailee says the partnership with ELR highlights the benefits of longstanding franchise agreements.
“Together, we’ve built something truly special: a partnership rooted in trust, excellence, and the belief that great Costa coffee brings people together.
“These new agreements reflect our mutual commitment to the future and our confidence in continuing to grow, innovate, and deliver exceptional experiences for customers.”
Costa was in the news earlier in the year amid reports that Coca-Cola, which acquired the brand in January 2019 from Whitbread, was looking to sell it.
