Nova Scotia RCMP have issued an emergency alert due to a man with a firearm in the area between Oldham Road and Rockcliffe Drive in Enfield.

The alert said police are responding, but residents have been told to stay inside and lock their doors.

RCMP described the suspect as having tattoos on his face, and wearing a baby-blue coloured T-shirt and navy blue pants.

The suspect was last seen on foot, according to police, who asked the public not to provide a ride to anyone asking for one.

RCMP posted a public advisory earlier in the day on social media. It said the Halifax Detachment was investigating reports of a man with a firearm. There were no reports of shots being fired.
