South Carolina’s Jayden Sellers Shines in Victory, Following in Brother LaNorris’ Footsteps

Columbia is buzzing with excitement as the Sellers brothers make headlines at South Carolina. Last season, LaNorris Sellers, a standout quarterback, captured the hearts of Gamecock fans. His younger brother, Jayden Sellers, is now stepping into the spotlight as a freshman wide receiver, eager to carve out his own legacy.
In a recent game against Coastal Carolina, Jayden showcased his talent with an impressive performance, recording four catches for 127 yards. He made an explosive entrance into the scoring column with a remarkable 75-yard touchdown on the very first play, marking his inaugural touchdown catch with the Gamecocks.
Statistically, Jayden’s yardage places him fifth on the all-time list for freshman receiving yards at South Carolina, putting him alongside some noteworthy former Gamecocks such as Sidney Rice and Alshon Jeffery, both of whom went on to achieve Super Bowl success. With 270 receiving yards accumulated over 17 catches this season, Jayden is making a strong case for his place in the team’s history.
The Sellers brothers share a rich football background, both having played at South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina. Their high school careers notably overlapped when LaNorris was a senior and Jayden was a sophomore.
