Powerball jackpot swells to a colossal $740M after no winners crowned Saturday: numbers and odds

The Powerball jackpot soared to a staggering $740 million after Saturday night’s highly anticipated drawing produced no lucky winner, leaving the third-largest prize of the year up for grabs.

The winning numbers drawn were 19, 22, 30, 23, 59, and 1 as the Powerball.

The next drawing is on Monday night.

The life-changing fortune has steadily climbed over the past nearly three months, with no one crowned the winner since the big prize was clinched on Sept. 6.

If a lucky ticket holder defies the 1-in-292 million odds of matching all five numbers and the Powerball, they can choose to receive the jackpot in 30 annual payments — and pocket some $24 million per year before taxes — or take a one-time cash payout.

The lump sum is estimated at $346.1 million before taxes, smaller than the advertised jackpot, which reflects the total annuitized payments.

After federal taxes at a marginal rate of up to 37%, plus any applicable state taxes, the cash victor would take home about $210 million.

A Powerball ticket with five out of six winning numbers, worth $979,462, was sold at a 7-Eleven on Los Alisos Boulevard in Mission Viejo, California, Wednesday, according to the California Lottery website.

However, a winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize.

The largest Powerball grand prize ever claimed was won by 31-year-old Californian Edwin Castro, who took home a $2.04 billion jackpot in November 2022.

Castro went for the $998 million lump sum, and took home about $628 million after taxes, according to the California Lottery.
