How Lando Norris can win the 2025 F1 title at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The F1 title fight has come down to the final round of the season, with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix set to decide the winner.

Lando Norris could not quite clinch the title at the penultimate race in Qatar and enters the final round with a 12-point lead over Max Verstappen.

Norris crossed the line in Qatar in fourth place, taking 12 points – however up until the penultimate lap, it appeared Norris was on course for a fifth-place result before he moved ahead of Kimi Antonelli.

While the deficit has come down dramatically, Norris still enters the Abu Dhabi finale with the best chance of clinching the title.

Should he win the Abu Dhabi GP, he will claim the world championship, regardless of where Verstappen and Oscar Piastri.

In fact, even if Norris finishes on the podium in third place behind his two rivals, it would be enough to see him take the championship.

However, if Verstappen wins the race, Norris must ensure he does not finish off the podium – otherwise Verstappen will be champion.

The second McLaren of Piastri will clinch the title if he can out-score Norris by 16 points, having now slipped to third in the standings.
