Houston Texans vs Indianapolis Colts live updates, score, highlights today: Colts, Texans in tight AFC South battle

The Indianapolis Colts (8-3) host an AFC South rival, the Houston Texans (6-5), today in NFL Week 13 action. Both teams have intriguing quarterback storylines.

Colts quarterback Daniel Jones reportedly has a break in his left leg, though he is playing. Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) is back missing after missing three games, all Houston wins with Davis Mills at the helm.

What we know: Sauce Gardner leaves Colts game vs Texans with calf injury

Texans 20, Colts 13, 12:38 left 4Q: Nico Collins runs it in from 7 yards, capping a 12-play, 65-yard drive taking 5:13.

Kenny Moore is called for pass interference on a 3rd-and-15 play, giving Houston the ball at the Indianapolis 17. Colts coach Shane Steichen is irate that delay of game is not called against the Texans.

Colts 13, Texans 13, 2:51 left 3Q: Daniel Jones hits Tyler Warren — who had been ill during the weekend — from 12 yards.

The Colts get the ball at the Houston 12 as Alec Pierce is interfered with on 3rd-and-19. That’s a 32-yard penalty.

Josh Downs keeps his feet in for a 34-yard catch on 3rd down.

Texans 13, Colts 6, 6:47 left 3Q: Ka’imi Fairbairn hits a 43-yard field goal after an Adetomiwa Adebawore sack on 3rd down. Houston is starting to dominate time of possession (24+ minutes to 14+ for Indy), converting 3 3rd-down plays on the drive, which uses more than 8 minutes.

Texans 10, Colts 6: C.J. Stroud’s Hail Mary pass at the end of the half falls incomplete. Colts receiver Alec Pierce knocks down the pass.

• Daniel Jones is 8-of-14 for 116 yards, including a touchdown to Alex Pierce (3 catches, 56 yards). Jonathan Taylor has 10 carries for 40 yards.
• C.J. Stroud is 13-of-22 passing for 153 yards. Nico Collins has 4 catches for 69 yards. Nick Chubb has a rushing touchdown and Ka’imi Fairbairn a field goal.

Texans 10, Colts 6, 5:08 left 2Q: Nick Chubb runs 4 yards for a touchdown. Houston running back Woody Marks, who had left the game with an ankle injury, runs for 16 yards.

Colts 6, Texans 3, 8:41 left 2Q: Alec Pierce catches the Daniel Jones pass in the back of the end zone for a 19-yard touchdown. Michael Badgley misses the PAT off the upright. Jones has two completions to Pierce on that drive for 38 yards.

10:05 left 2Q: C.J. Stroud overthrows his receiver, and safety Cam Bynum gets his 3rd interception of the season. The Colts are at Houston’s 42.

10:11 left 2Q: The ball squirts through Tyler Warren’s hands on a 4th-and-1 play. Jonathan Taylor recovers, but he’s smashed in the backfield. Houston’s ball at its 11.

The Colts start their drive with a 33-yard screen pass from Daniel Jones to Jonathan Taylor to Houston’s 30.

Texans 3, Colts 0, 7:55 left 1Q: Ka’imi Fairbairn knocks in a 23-yard field goal after Grover Stewart bats down a 3rd-down C.J. Stroud pass.

Houston’s drive is extended by Colts illegal contact penalty (Jaylon Jones) on 3rd down inside the 10.

Newly acquired cornerback Sauce Gardner leaves after Houston’s second play from scrimmage. He’s putting no weight on his left leg and is listed as questionable with a calf injury. (Update: He is on the Colts sideline in street clothes and a walking boot.)

14:07 left 1Q: Indianapolis goes 3-and-out for their fifth consecutive drive, dating to last week’s overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. After Rigoberto Sanchez’s punt, Houston takes over at its 32.
