NFL Fans Calling For CBS To Replace Tony Romo Mid-Season

The narrative surrounding CBS broadcaster Tony Romo just keeps getting worse this NFL season.

When Romo first joined CBS in 2017, he quickly became a fan favorite due to his ability to tell fans what would happen before the football was snapped. Over the past few years, he hasn’t been able to do that nearly as much because offensive schemes in the NFL have changed dramatically.

Not only has Romo lost his fastball in the booth, he’s been accused of favoring Patrick Mahomes over every other player in the league. His appreciation for the three-time Super Bowl champion was on display this Thanksgiving.

During Thursday’s game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys, countless people complained about Romo’s commentary. They thought he was over the top for all four quarters.

Should CBS move on from Romo?

Although there’s zero indication a change will be made, Romo has received so much backlash that CBS might eventually consider a move.

“I’m thankful that most NFL games do NOT feature Tony Romo on commentary,” Sam Monson of The 33rd Team said.

“Tony Romo’s falloff from best analyst in the game to unabashed cheerleader needs to be studied,” Zack Kelberman of Mile High Huddle commented.

“I am beyond so over Tony Romo,” another person wrote on X. “His commentary is the equivalent of your car running out of gas and then the low fuel light goes off.”

“Tony Romo overdramatic gimmick is unbelievably annoying,” a Chiefs fan said. “You can’t call every play the biggest play of the year and every game the biggest game of the year it just gets so old.”

“Please fire Tony Romo,” another fan tweeted at CBS.

NFL fans will get to hear Romo on commentary once again this Sunday when the Buffalo Bills take on the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hopefully, Romo will redeem himself.
