A person has sadly died following a fire at a property in Thorne.
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service say firefighters attended the incident at a domestic property on Fieldside, Thorne just before midnight last night (Sat 29 Nov).
Five fire engines and a turntable ladder fought the blaze, leaving the scene at around 4am.
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Four people were treated for the effects of smoke inhalation and one person sadly lost their life.
“An investigation into the cause of the fire will begin on Sunday.
“Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the person who died.”
