Holiday barks sold at Aldi recalled over undeclared allergens

(CNN) – Two kinds of holiday barks sold at Aldi are being recalled because they may contain undeclared allergens.
The voluntary recall by Silvestri Sweets applies to the Choceur-branded Cookie Butter Holiday Bark and the Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon Holiday Bark. The former may contain undeclared pecans, while the latter may contain undeclared wheat.
The holiday barks were sold in 5-ounce pouches at Aldi grocery stores nationwide.
The Cookie Butter bark has a best by date of May 2026, while the Pecan, Cranberry and Cinnamon bark has a best by date of August 2026. They both have the lot number 29225. All of this information is printed on the back of each bag.
The FDA says the holiday barks were accidentally packaged in each other’s packaging during a “temporary breakdown” in the company’s production and packaging process.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.
Customers should throw away the products immediately. Those with questions may contact Silvestri Sweets at 1-630-232-2500 from Monday to Friday at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central.
