Ruby Wax’s latest I’m a Celebrity trial has sparked debate among viewers.
The 72-year-old comedian is currently roughing it in the jungle on the ITV programme, and during Monday evening’s episode (December 1), audiences witnessed her tackle the Misfortune Tellers challenge, reports the Express.
TV star Ruby had to plunge her hands into or clamber inside various “misfortune telling” contraptions whilst attempting to collect stars for camp meals, all while contending with an assortment of creepy crawlies including spiders, ants and snakes.
She managed to secure five stars from a potential 10, yet numerous viewers suggested that the task appeared suspiciously straightforward.

Some posted messages on X, which was formerly Twitter, saying they thought it was “too easy”.
“Ridiculously easy task clearly designed for Ruby, a tad embarrassing,” one viewer posted.
“It’s totally rigged, seems weird that she offers to do the trial and it’s quite easy,” remarked another.
A third observer commented: “This trial is too easy for Ruby, so rigged.”
“Easiest trial ever,” declared another fan. “Clearly fixed for her.”

Another X user wrote: “Ruby did well getting five stars. Still rigged that they made this trial easy for her.”
“Clearly they’ve told the camp this trial is easy hence why Ruby volunteered,” suggested another viewer. “Trials used to be so elite,” they added.
However, other fans defended the challenge, highlighting Ruby’s impressive jungle performance so far on the show – which is hosted by Ant and Dec – and noting that she appeared to have been genuinely tested by the ordeal.
One supporter observed on X: “To the people complaining that these trials are easy… can’t you see her hands literally shaking?!”

“Hate the comments about this being too easy for a trial,” one fan of the star posted.
“It’s clear it’s hard for Ruby and at least she’s trying. Some people have difficulties with fine motor skills.”
Another fan of I’m a Celebrity chimed in on the platform: “I respect Ruby so much, she’s 72 I think? And is doing good.”
I’m a Celebrity… Get me Out of Here! continues to air on ITV.
