Who are P Diddy’s children and what have they said about his abuse and imprisonment?

In October 2025, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 56, was sentenced to 50 months in prison. In a federal trial, the former American music mogul was accused of running a sex-trafficking operation, where courts found him guilty on two counts of transportation for prostitution. However, he was acquitted of three others — one of which was a racketeering charge, which saw him face life in prison. Combs pleaded not guilty and denied all the charges against him.

One of the most high-profile aspects of Combs’ case was his decade-long relationship with R&B singer, Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura, who accused him of assault, rape, sex trafficking, coercion, blackmail, and plying her with copious amounts of drugs. Ventura took to the witness stand for four days and shared in emotional detail the abuse she claimed to have suffered at the hands of her former partner.

A video tape of Combs appearing to physically attack Ventura in a hotel hallway also went viral. In response, he issued a public statement saying he “sought out professional help” after the incident. “I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry,” he added.

Throughout Combs’ trial, six of his seven children attended court to offer their support. Following his sentencing, the disgraced musician reportedly told his kids that he’d “failed” them. In a statement to the judge, he also said that he would “never, ever, ever, jeopardise being in this situation again.” Combs added: “Being away from my family that needs me, that’s my deterrence.”

But, what do we know about his children, Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, D’Lila, Jessie, and Love, whom he welcomed with four different women, Kim Porter, Misa Hylton, Sarah Chapman, and Dana Tran? And, what have they said about his treatment of Cassie, women, his trial and ultimate imprisonment?

Who are P Diddy’s children?

Combs shares sons Quincy, 34, and Christian, 27, and twins D’Lila and Jessie, 18, with the late Kim Porter. Porter, an American model and actress, sadly passed away in 2018, aged 47. Combs is not Quincy’s biological father – R&B singer, Al B. Sure!, is – but adopted him at a young age.

Combs’ son Justin, 31, was born to Misa Hylton, an American stylist and fashion designer.

He shares his daughter Chance, 18, with businesswoman Sarah Chapman.

Finally, Combs welcomed his daughter Love, now three, with influencer Dana Tran.

When Combs’ Beverly Hills mansion was raided in March 2024, photos of his sons Justin and Christian in handcuffs were released while waiting for the agents to finish their search.

A day later, Combs’ lawyer, Aaron Dyer, spoke about the handling of the situation. He said: “Yesterday, there was a gross overuse of military-level force as search warrants were executed at Mr. Combs’ residences. There is no excuse for the excessive show of force and hostility exhibited by authorities or the way his children and employees were treated.”

Dyer added: “Mr. Combs was never detained but spoke to and cooperated with authorities. Despite media speculation, neither Mr. Combs nor any of his family members have been arrested nor has their ability to travel been restricted in any way.”

A month later, in April 2024, Christian was accused of sexually assaulting a female who was working on a yacht used by his father for a family holiday in St Martin in 2022.

In a lawsuit filed in a civil court in Los Angeles, a woman claimed that Christian ‘King’ Combs physically and sexually assaulted her. Sean Combs was also reportedly named in the lawsuit as liable because he chartered the yacht.

In October 2025, a judge dismissed the lawsuit against both Sean and Christian Combs.

What did P Diddy’s children say about his arrest?

In October 2024, one month after Combs was arrested, his six eldest children released a joint statement revealing the situation had “devastated their family.”

The statement, which was obtained by People, said: “Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiralled into absurdity on social media. We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD. Quincy, Justin, Christian, Chance, Jessie & D’Lila.”

Did P Diddy’s children speak at the trial?

On 3 October 2025, the six older children gave statements at Combs’ sentencing hearing to advocate for their father. According to NBC News, Quincy told Judge Arun Subramanian that his father is a “changed man.” Justin reportedly said that he hopes his father gets the chance to “right this wrong and to be the man he truly is.”

Christian called Combs the “greatest man in the world” and his “hero.” He also said that Combs “always taught [him] to treat women with respect.” D’Lila appealed to the judge to give her father a shorter sentence (at the time, prosecutors were pushing for an 11-year incarceration). She said of her youngest sister, Love: “Our 2-year-old sister is asking, ‘Where dad is?’ the same way we grew up motherless.” D’Lila was referring to her mother, Kim Porter.

The 18-year-old added: “It’s a hole that can’t be filled. We are tired of being strong. We have already lost so much: our mother, our father. Please, give us the chance to heal together and move forward together.”

Jessie told the judge that Combs “promised he would always be there to keep us safe,” and her sister Chance added that they are just “daughters who need our father.”

What have P Diddy’s children said about Cassie?

During Ventura’s (Cassie) testimony, she spoke about her relationship with Combs. The former couple met when she was 19, and he was 37. After Combs signed Ventura to his label, Bad Boy Records, they began a romantic relationship. Ventura filed a lawsuit against Combs in 2023, accusing him of 10 years’ worth of abuse. While Combs denied these allegations, CCTV footage from 2016 was released in 2024, showing Combs violently kicking Ventura outside a hotel room.

This video was shown in the courtroom when Combs’ three older daughters were present. Reports say that the girls lowered their heads during the video, while Combs’ sons watched. Combs later posted an apology on social media. In the now-deleted video, he called his behaviour “inexcusable,” accepted “full responsibility” for his actions and said he sought therapy after beating Cassie.

How did P Diddy’s children deal with the trial?

On day one of the trial, Chance, D’Lila and Jessie reportedly left the courtroom twice. One occasion was when an escort, Daniel Phillip, who was hired by Combs, described the defendant masturbating while he had sex with Ventura. As per NBC News, Phillip alleged that Combs paid him a “few thousand dollars” in 2012 or 2013. He told the court: “We [Phillip and Ventura] ended up having sex, rubbed baby oil on each other for a couple minutes,” while Combs was “sitting in a corner masturbating.”

What has P Diddy said about his kids?

On 2 October 2025, one day before he was sentenced, Combs penned a letter to Judge Subramanian as seen by Cosmopolitan UK. Touching on the Ventura footage, he said the “scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I’m sorry for that and always will be.”

Combs also said that his domestic violence will always be a “heavy burden” that he will have to “forever carry.” The 56-year-old then apologised for something he said he could never forgive someone else for: if they put their hands on one of his daughters.

“This is why it is so hard for me to forgive myself. It is like a deep wound that leaves an ugly scar.” Combs continued, asking the judge for mercy — not just for him — but for his children, too, whom he named. Later in the letter, Combs said that he “failed” his children as a father, and wants the “opportunity to return home and be the father that they need and deserve.”

Combs concluded: “Prior to being in jail, I took care of and was present for my family. Being in jail, and because of my conduct, I lost the ability to care for my mother. I lost the ability to effectively raise and support my children. I have missed my three (3) daughters’ proms and graduations. I have missed taking one of my daughters to college. I have lost the freedom to teach my two-year-old how to speak, dance, play, or be there to console her when she falls down or has a nightmare.

“I no longer care about the money or the fame. There is nothing more important to me than my family.”
