Warriors vs. Thunder injury report: Steph Curry out, Jimmy Butler III questionable

The Golden State Warriors have arguably their hardest challenge of the season ahead of them tonight, for their still-getting-used-to-it 8:00 p.m. PT tip-off on Tuesday night. The challenge? The 20-1 Oklahoma City Thunder, who saunter into the Bay Area with a 12-game win streak … only to face a Dubs team that is without Steph Curry (though Seth Curry will suit up for the first time!).
Not only is Curry out, but the Warriors could be missing a few other players, too. Here’s the full injury report.
Out — Steph Curry (left quadriceps contusion)
No surprises here. Curry’s out tonight, and he’ll likely be out for a few more games. The Warriors will be extremely cautious with him.
Out — Al Horford (right sciatic nerve irritation)
Sciatic nerves are nothing to mess around with, and unfortunately, Horford appears to be learning that lesson the hard way. His defensive presence will be sorely missed against Chet Holmgren and the Thunder.
Out — De’Anthony Melton (left ACL surgery)
There’s a lot of optimism that Melton might return to the court during the team’s upcoming road trip, which begins on Thursday and ends on Sunday. But for at least one more game, he’s still sidelined by the injury he suffered early last year.
Out — Alex Toohey (left knee injury recovery)
Toohey has yet to make his NBA debut, though he has appeared in some games for the Santa Cruz Warriors, though they didn’t go particularly well.
Questionable — Jimmy Butler III (left gluteal contusion)
Butler took a hard fall during Saturday’s win, but stayed in the game. The Warriors have a very slim path to victory with Curry out, and that path is all but eliminated if Butler can’t play tonight.
Probable — Draymond Green (right midfoot sprain)
As with Butler and Curry, the goal with Green is to make sure he’s healthy long-term, not necessarily for this game. Though it certainly looks like he’ll be playing in this game, too.
Out — Isaiah Hartentstein (right soleus strain)
The loss of Horford is at least mitigated by OKC being without their starting center (though now’s where I remind you that Jalen Williams has returned after a lengthy absence to begin the year).
Out — Alex Caruso (right quad soreness)
Well, at least we’ll be spared the commentary about how great Caruso would be on a Steve Kerr team.
Out — Luguentz Dort (right adductor strain)
The Thunder are still heavy favorites. After all, they still have a healthy Holmgren, Williams, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, while the Dubs are without Curry. But Hartenstein, Caruso, and Dort being out is certainly still a hit to OKC.
Out — Nikola Topić (surgical recovery)
Topić was a lottery pick in 2024, but has yet to make his NBA debut. He’s currently recovering from surgery to treat testicular cancer and, as we always say around here, some (many, even) things are bigger than basketball. Here’s hoping for the best for Topić.
Out — Thomas Sorber (right ACL surgical recovery)
Sorber was taken 15th overall in June’s draft, after one year at Georgetown. He’ll miss the entire season, however, as he rehabs an ACL tear.
Available — Branden Carlson (nasal fracture)
Carlson was a question mark, but is now good to go. The undrafted center, who is playing in his second season, has had a modest role off the bench this year.
Enjoy the game, Dub Nation. It tips off at 8:00 p.m. PT on NBC, Peacock, and NBC Sports Bay Area.
