Prasidh Krishna ends Temba Bavuma’s stay with a short ball after being hit for six in IND vs SA 2025 2nd ODI

Team India pacer Prasidh Krishna got his side a crucial breakthrough of Temba Bavuma in the second ODI against South Africa in Raipur on Wednesday, December 3. A short ball from the Karnataka pacer ended the visiting skipper’s stay, who was dismissed for 46 as the hosts got the second wicket.
The dismissal occurred in the 21st over of the innings as Indian skipper KL Rahul brought Prasidh for his second. Bavuma had played a hook shot for six, using the pace brilliantly in the fourth delivery of the over. He unleashed another short-pitched delivery, and the 35-year-old couldn’t get a clean connection, pulling it to Harshit Rana, who took a simple catch.
Here’s the clip of the dismissal, which ended a 101-run stand between Bavuma and Aiden Markram.
The 29-year-old right-arm pacer had been a touch expensive initially in the series-opener in Ranchi but eventually finished with a haul of 7.2-1-48-1. He dismissed Corbin Bosch for 67 as the Proteas fell 17 runs short of India’s total of 349.

South Africa won the toss yet again in the series, and inserted the home side into bat, citing the dew factor. Team India responded brilliantly as Virat Kohli scored his second consecutive hundred of the series.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who failed in the first game, also came good, hitting his maiden ODI hundred, and sharing a 195-run partnership with Kohli.
Later, Rahul played a knock of 66 off only 43 deliveries to lift their side to 358/5 in 50 overs. Quinton de Kock was the first Proteas batter to be dismissed as Arshdeep Singh got him for 8. But Bavuma and Aiden Markram, who added 110 together, set the foundation for the steep chase.
At the time of writing, the Proteas were 253/3 in 36 overs, with Dewald Brevis and Matthew Breetzke keeping the visitors afloat.
