Mae picks up Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame award

The Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in St. Marys has named Hazel Mae the winner of the Jack Graney Award.
The award is presented each year to a media member who has made significant contributions to baseball in Canada through their life’s work.
Scott Crawford, director of operations at the national ball hall, said Mae has set the bar high for Major League Baseball’s in-game reporters.
Crawford said Mae’s in-depth player interviews and in-game insights have often been the highlight of Sportsnet’s Blue Jays coverage.

Mae’s impact on baseball in Canada reaches far beyond her work on the field, Crawford added, noting she has been a tremendous ambassador for baseball across the country.
Mae said she is deeply humbled and profoundly grateful for the Jack Graney Award, named after the former Major Leaguer, and first ex-player to transition to the broadcast booth.
Past winners include Tom Cheek, Jerry Howarth and Dan Shulman.
