Celebrity Masterchef star Noreen Khan was left devastated after making a huge blunder at an a really crucial time. The comedian, 36, is part of the star-studded line-up cooking for John Torode and Grace Dent on the new series of the BBC cooking show.
During tonight’s (December 2) episode of the hit show, Noreen was up against singer Alfie Boe, ex-rugby union player Alun Wyn Jones, reality star Ashley Cain and Gladiator Jodie Ounsley as they competed to secure a place in the last quarter-final.
For the first challenge the celebs had to lift a cloche to reveal a random ingredient that they incorporated in their dish.
Noreen, who was a presenter on the BBC Asia network for 12 years, was given oranges so she decided to make two mini orange sponge cakes with desiccated coconut, served with whipped cream, orange and pistachio.

The star admitted that she can be a “lazy cook” however she got stuck into the task and attempted to make her cake without a recipe.
Judge Grace was quick to point out: “Noreen did get one of the more difficult things. Yes they are oranges and we all recognise them but how do we make them the star of the show.”
It all seemed to be off to a flying start for the star as she managed to get both her mini cakes into the oven with plenty of time to decorate and service.
However things took an unexpected turn for the worse, with just two minutes left on the clock, Noreen decided to take her cakes out the oven but as she picked the first one up she accidentally dropped it on the floor.

Everyone was speechless as judge Grace put her hands over her hand and watched on in disbelief. A disappointed Noreen stayed calm as she put the cake on the side, knowing that it can no longer be used.
A panicked John rushed over and asked: “What happened.” Noreen was visibly upset as she revealed: “I dropped one on the floor because I opened it.” John jumped in and added: “You dropped one on the floor? Don’t worry, you can save it.”
With no time to spare, Noreen used her other cake and did everything she could to make the dish as presentable as possible.

Taking a bite at the sweet treat, Grace admitted: “This is a lovely cake. With the cream on the side with the orange and pistachio I am enjoying it. The orange is the star of the show.”
Pointing out Noreen’s blunder earlier in the show, the judge continued: “I love the fact you dropped the cake on the floor, breathed and then just served what you had.”
John: “Your cake is really good, lovely and crispy on the outside. This is impressive because you made a cake without a recipe so good on you.”
Speaking to the camera, Noreen said: “Trust me to drop the cake. It wasn’t all bad but it could have been better. I feel relieved.”
