Roman Kemp has revealed his dad Martin “doesn’t have mates” which means his stint on I’m A Celeb will be absolutely precious to him. Following last night’s episode where the campmates enjoyed a night out at the Jungle Arms, he posted: “One thing I have noticed is my dad keeps saying ‘my new friends’.
“He genuinely doesn’t have mates so he means it, he’ll really be chuffed. Again not being mean, that’s the truth.” He also seemed to have a dig at I’m A Celeb regarding his father’s minimal screen presence.
Martin Kemp is amongst this year’s campmates but viewers have been questioning his whereabouts, as he’s barely featured on the programme.

The former Spandau Ballet star was part of the original lineup heading into the Jungle this year, six years after his son Roman took part in the show, reports the Mirror.
However, during his weeks Down Under, Martin has scarcely appeared on our screens.
Supporters have been demanding the 80s icon gets more involvement in the programme.
One viewer posted: “Martin gets 0 airtime, someone make him do a trial or smth pls, atp do camp even know he’s still in there #imaceleb.”
Another commented: “Please show more of Martin, imagine the stories he could be telling about the 80’s, his Spandau Ballet days and not being shown.”
Even his own son appeared frustrated by his father’s lack of screen time, as when Martin finally engaged in conversation with a fellow campmate, he excitedly shared it on X.

Martin was chatting to his jungle companions about enjoying a Twiglet. The radio presenter shared footage of Declan Donnelly, one half of the presenting duo, making his way across the rope bridge whilst celebrating as sparklers erupted in the background.
Roman captioned the clip: “My dad had an actual conversation on camera! ! ! #ImACelebrity.”
Viewers have also grown increasingly frustrated with campmate Lisa Riley, as she appeared to be stealing Martin’s thunder. As the camp partied in The Jungle Arms, they started karaoke, and while other musicians, such as Aitch, were able to get time to themselves to sing their own songs, Martin’s moment had to be shared.
When Gold by Spandau Ballet began playing, Lisa grabbed the microphone and dominated the vocals. One viewer complained: “Lisa you’ve just sang your own song let Martin sing his own song thanks.”
Another commented: “Poor Martin was just trying to sing his own song but couldn’t get the mic off Lisa.”
A third remarked: “Poor Martin couldn’t even get airtime on his own bloody song lmao.”
Some feared his limited screen time might result in him being the next elimination following Vogue Williams, Eddie Kadi and Alex Scott’s departures. Nevertheless, it was Kelly Brook who became the fourth contestant to exit the jungle.
