Man dead and three in hospital after Glasgow street disturbance

Police say they are treating the man’s death as unexplained.

A man has died after a disturbance at a flat in Glasgow.
Emergency services raced to Berkeley Street after receiving the alarm at 6.45am today. Crews attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three others were raced to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say they are treating the man’s death as unexplained.
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing. Meanwhile, the area remains shut down by police.

Images taken from the scene show a large cordon in place with multiple officers standing guard. A small forensic tent has also been erected in the middle of the road.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: “Around 6.45am on Friday, 5 December, we were called to a report of a disturbance within a property on Berkeley Street in Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Three people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“Officers remain at the scene and there is no threat to the wider public.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 07:08 to attend an incident on Berkeley Street, Glasgow. We dispatched four ambulances, a paramedic response unit (PRU), a special operations response unit (SORT), and a trauma team to the scene.
“We transported one patient to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and two patients to Glasgow Royal Infirmary.”
