Idaho ranked seventh worst in new driver report

Idaho has been ranked as the seventh worst state for drivers in LendingTree’s 2025 “Best and Worst Drivers” report.
The report analyzed auto insurance data, including DUIs, speeding incidents, crashes, and other safety violations. Idaho’s drivers recorded over 43 incidents per 1,000 drivers.
Neighboring states also fared poorly, with Washington at number five and Utah at number three. North Dakota topped the list with an average of 64 incidents per 1,000 drivers.
In contrast, Michigan and Florida were recognized for having the safest drivers.
