Celtics extend winning streak to 4 with 126-105 victory over rival Lakers

BOSTON — In the long line of epic games between the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers, Friday night’s meeting between the legendary rivals wasn’t particularly notable. However, it was another instance of the 2025-26 Celtics playing the right way and building positive momentum, as they crushed the Lakers 126-105 at TD Garden.

Celtics star Jaylen Brown led the way for Boston — as he’s done all season long — recording 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists in just 34 minutes. Celtics wing Jordan Walsh also continued his recent hot streak with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 blocks. In Boston’s past three games, Walsh has converted on 18 of his last 19 attempts from the field.

Since this game was the second leg of a back-to-back for both teams, there were some key absences. Lakers star LeBron James sat with left foot joint arthritis and ex-Celtic Marcus Smart was out with a left lumbar muscle strain. L.A.’s main source of offense this season, guard Luka Doncic, was also out due to personal reasons.

Boston has now won four games in a row, which is enough for its longest winning streak of the season.

The Green Team will look to keep that successful streak going on Sunday afternoon when they face the Toronto Raptors.
