The search continues for 19-year-old who went missing Dec. 2 in the Woody Creek Plaza area.

According to Pitkin County Sheriff Michael Buglione, the teen is presumably still in the same vicinity.

“We have people searching on foot and a drone in the air looking, as well,” Buglione told The Aspen Times on Friday.

According to an initial Missing Person Advisory and reports on Dec. 3, the missing person is about 6 feet one inch and 180 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. He may be carrying a handgun, and those who do see him are asked to not approach him in the interest of public safety.

According to a Pitkin County press release from Dec. 3, deputies, Mountain Rescue Aspen, RFTA, and the Aspen Volunteer Fire Department have all offered assistance and support. As of then, more than 25 personnel were engaged in ground searches, investigative interviews, and discussions with neighbors, friends, and family.

“Residents and businesses in the surrounding area are asked to remain alert and report anything suspicious or out of place to the dedicated tip line 970-716-4160,” the press release states. “This includes unusual activity around properties, outbuildings, or vehicles.”
