Bad news for any Ed Sheeran fans not local to the singer, he’s declared he has only got ‘one more big tour’ in him.

His admission comes after lyrics in his latest songs hinted that his marriage to Cherry Seaborn has hit a rough patch.

On the deluxe version of Play, Ed, 34, sang about ‘problems’ which they ‘don’t know how to solve’ and how he ‘feels deflated’.

He also ruminates on being there for his children — Lyra Antarctica, five, and Jupiter, three — while still being a global superstar.

Speaking on the Awards Chatter podcast, Ed said: ‘I’ve got one more big tour in me before settling down for school years.’

The dedicated dad previously said how having kids encouraged him to ditch his (ahem) bad habits.

‘I wrote down a list the other day of things that matter to me and one is my family, one is songwriting, one is doing shows,’ Ed shared.

‘If I can get to a point where I’m playing shows, writing songs and hanging out with my family, then you can cut the noise out around that, however that noise might present itself.’

Recently, Ed embarked on a world tour, which continues into the new year, plus intimate shows like his Billions Club gig in Dublin.

However, performing is still important to the Shape of You singer, so he has a plan to keep gigging without leaving his home in Suffolk.

‘I looked into the idea of building a venue in my hometown and doing a residency there,’ he explained.

‘That then cuts out the travel and being away from my family. I’ve built a studio nearby that I can use. I feel that’s the model you can adopt.’

Ed lives with his family in a £3,700,000 estate – dubbed Sheeranville – on the Suffolk coast, having purchased two houses with plans to convert them into one.

One of the barns on the extensive property has been turned into a studio for the singer and his famous friends to record in.

Recently, the star also discussed relocating to the US while he performed out there to allow him to spend more time with his family.

This move would be temporary but Cherry and the girls would ‘settle’ in an unnamed state, although he did purchase a New York pad for his property portfolio.

Lamenting that life gets ‘quite cluttered’, performing in his hometown would be far less time-consuming and support the local music industry.

‘I commit to lots of things, and I end up doing quite a lot,’ he admitted.
