A woman and a young boy have died as a result of a fatal fire at a domestic residence in Edenderry, Co Offaly, on Saturday evening.
Gardaí and other emergency services attended at the scene at about 7.45pm on Saturday. The fire has been extinguished by the local fire service.
Garda headquarters confired a woman in her 60s and a young boy were fatally injured in the fire, while another woman (50s) is receiving hospital treatment for serious injuries.
Gardaí in Tullamore are appealing for any witnesses to come forward to assist with their investigation.
