Raj Arjun praises daughter Sara Arjun as the true “Dhurandhar” in his life.
Long before audiences discovered Sara Arjun in Dhurandhar, her biggest believer was at home — her father, actor Raj Arjun, who now admits that every milestone in his journey traces back to her. As Sara earns praise for her performance opposite Ranveer Singh, Raj has shared an heartfelt note about how his daughter didn’t just grow under his care — she helped shape the man and the artist he became.
Actor Raj Arjun penned an emotional message celebrating his daughter Sara Arjun, who has been receiving a lot of love for her role in Dhurandhar. In an Instagram post written in Hindi, Raj looked back on how becoming a father transformed his life and career, calling Sara the true “Dhurandhar” who carried him through his hardest years.
Raj began his note by looking back at his early days in Mumbai. He shared that he arrived in the city in 1999 with ambition and belief, but no connections. He said he struggled through countless auditions until life changed completely in 2005 — the year Sara was born. “Sometimes, to understand life, we have to look back,” he wrote. “We think we’re raising our children, but time and opportunity tell us… In reality, they’re the ones raising us.”
Recalling how Sara’s arrival shifted his perspective, Raj wrote that he finally understood why people say daughters are a blessing. He revealed that soon after Sara came into his life, he landed his first lead role in Ram Gopal Varma’s Shabri. Though the film got stuck in production, Sara’s presence kept his confidence alive. “For the first time, I felt that I, too, could become someone… I, too, could achieve something,” he wrote. “Had her soul not entered my life, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.”
Raj went on to describe how Sara unknowingly held him together during challenging times. “People say fathers show daughters the path… but my story is the opposite. I reached my destination because of my daughter,” he said. Even when work stalled, he found strength in her growing presence. “She was growing… slowly… silently… holding me together.”
He added that being a father meant being more than a protector — sometimes a friend, sometimes a companion and sometimes simply giving space. “I didn’t make her path,” he wrote. “I walked beside her. I didn’t become the guard of her dreams — I became her companion.”
Sara Arjun rose to fame in 2011 playing Vikram’s daughter in Deiva Thirumagal, and later starred in Saivam, Ek Thi Daayan, Jazbaa, Jai Ho, Saand Ki Aankh, and Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan as young Nandini. Dhurandhar marks her debut as an adult actor.
